Man o man, if you have blood pumping through your veins I know you’ve come in contact with an energy vampire. These people will bleed you dry if you let them.

If you allow them to they’ll turn you, just like the VAMPS on True Blood.  On TV they drink Tru Blood in real life energy Vamps drink HATER-AID, because for some reasons energy vampires are HATERS that  love and feed on negativity.  I don’t know what it is about them, I can’t cure them (don’t want too) – I can only warn you to be on the lookout for them.  My advice keep your stake ready, wooden bullets, or maybe your light (Sooky light) ready -whatever it is you need, that said – don’t let them get you.

Zeek Rewards Shut Down

If you were inside Zeek Rewards and thought you found a way to build an income and a lifestyle you have my sympathies.  While I was not involved with the company personally I knew many and knew of many more who had an affiliation with Zeek.

Unfortunately, things did not work out for the company and on Friday August 17, 2012 Zeek Rewards was shut down by the securities exchange commission or SEC for allegedly operating a $600 million Ponzi scheme.

It’s sad when things like this happen, it’s sad for the founders, the affiliates (those making money and of course those who lost money).  When these type of challenges hit home business it can be hard for companies who walk clearly inside what we know to be legal inside network marketing.

Unfortunately Zeek Rewards was so unique that it was unclear if they were inside or outside the letter of the law.  One thing is clear, we all should be somewhat concerned as scrutiny from Zeek Rewards will impact our entire profession.

That being said, I think it’s important that we have a basic understanding of what happened with Zeek Rewards and why the company was shut down.  Many may say it was because they were operating a penny auction.  I don’t believe that, I actually think that the fundamental concept of a penny auction is brilliant.  When you understand how penny auctions work I’m sure you will too.

MLM Mistake #1 – Not Avoiding The Roller Coaster

Riding the roller coaster is the biggest mistake in MLM.  If we stop and consider roller coasters for a second they can be an exciting thrill ride, fun, and even terrifying.  Whatever the emotion you personally get it’s always a relatively short ride.

If you think about it who would want to be on a never ending roller coaster?  If you said no one, and I’m sure you did – you realize that MLM can be an emotional roller coaster with hi- highs and low-lows, and if you want to CHOOSE success, you absolutely must CHOOSE how you handle the high’s and low’s of the business – if you don’t you won’t be on the MLM ride very long.

Keep in mind – I’m not saying to not get excited, I’m also not saying to not be disappointed or frustrated at times – what I’m saying is to not let your emotions stop you from moving forward regardless of which emotion is looking to take you for a ride.

MLM Mistake #2 – A Naive Concept of Duplication

Duplication in MLM is a touchy subject, some experience it – others yearn for it.  Most people seem to believe it some how up to the company or their upline to create.  Some feel like it’s because of a particular method of presentation or even because of sales skill, you’ll even hear it’s because of a simple the system that must be implemented.

Let’s quickly look at each, could it be the company?  Well, every MLM company has people succeeding and people failing, right? So it can’t be the company. (BTW, Since most believe it is, most struggle).

Maybe its skill or the method of presentation?  While I won’t say this isn’t a factor, I’ve certainly seen some really BAD presentations and some even worse approaches that still accomplish the goal of enrolling a new distributor.  If you’ve been around MLM for a while I’ll bet you’ve seen at least 1 corporate MLM website and presentation that looks like crap that’s pulling in distributors like crazy!  I’ve also seen the opposite, great presentation, great look, and feel, and still stagnant growth and attrition in the business.

Perhaps its simplicity and a system?  Well if you’ve been to at least 1 MLM training at all you’ve been told follow the system, right?  Can you easily describe in detail the system?  Or are you going to tell me to make a list, call them, and enroll them – and have them do the same.  Maybe you’ll suggest a meeting, or webinar.  Whatever the approach being recommended is it really systematic?  If it’s truly systematic why do so many people struggle and look outside the company and line of sponsorship for answers?  I’ll leave that one for you to answer for yourself (like I said, duplication is a touchy subject).

Simply put, don’t worry so much about duplicating tasks, strategies, or words (that will come in time).  Focus on learning and teaching people how to duplicate the right MINDSET (this must be the focus from the start).  Like we talked about, regardless of the company, products, presentation, or system – leaders succeed – and it’s because of our MINDSET, and it’s only something we as individuals can control.  So, learn and study how leaders think – and learn to pattern and duplicate that thought – as it’s thinking that will improve and develop your attitude, your attitude will determine your actions, and your actions will develop into habits, and your daily habits will create your results.

MLM Mistake #3 – Choosing The Wrong Kinds Of Mentors

Choosing a mentor that can help you is critical to succeeding in anything.  I want you to notice I didn’t say having a mentor – I said, CHOOSING one that can help you.

More often than not people choose mentors based on their level of respect, or for some level of accomplishment the person reached and not based on what’s actually important.  (Put importance on if the mentor can and is willing to help you.)

Let’s look at 2 GURU examples that can easily be recognized by anyone.

Example 1 – (the real estate example), Millions of people who desire to become new real estate investors actually look up to and follow Donald Trump and believe he is a good role model for them – and this has always baffled me.  I’ve often heard people refer to him as their mentor or role model.  This has always struck me as odd because Trump was received formal education, millions from his family to get started, and they came to his aid with millions when he made mistakes.  While he ultimately fostered that money into more - he came from money, and his situation is certainly not at all similar or comparable to a new first generation investor.  I can see the attraction to Trump, yet Trump is someone who CAME from money and contacts, he not a person who built a fortune from the ground up with no or few contacts.  Can he really teach the new investor how to win without these advantages?  (Nothing against The Donald from him we can certainly learn and should learn his MINDSET of persistence and his understanding of branding – feel free to comment and keep the discussion going!)

Example 2 - (the make money example) Robert Kiyosaki and I love reading Robert!  But, is he or should he be considered a good mentor?  Well, if you read Rich Dad Poor Dad you know Robert had direct contact, mentorship, and advice from “the wealthiest man in Hawaii” from about age 5 until the time he himself became a multi-millionaire.  While Robert definitely provides great information and motivation the real almost hidden lesson he teaches is one of direct access.  Are you getting direct advice, contact, and mentorship from someone who can actually help you and wants to help you?  (Robert has mastered gaining direct access to those who can help him and is a master of influence.)

If you’re scratching your head wondering what do these 2 examples have to do with MLM?  Well it’s simple – if you’re struggling chasing a burnt out, un-interested, unresponsive warm market and your mentor tells you to approach them again.  You may have a “Donald Trump mentor”  remember Donald’s family was supportive, had connections, had money, – the whole family had a very responsive warm market eager to support them.  Donald never had to build from the bottom to the top from scratch.  (When you realize even when had major issues he still had contacts.)  Who is mentoring you in building your MLM business?  Did they have a responsive warm market eager to join when he called with an opportunity, if so how can they truly help you build from scratch?

Perhaps your mentor is the Robert Kiyosaki style – full of good ideas and possibilities, but doesn’t really share how to implement them, very motivational and inspirational, but impossible to get direct access to?  If you find yourself in either situation the sooner you recognize it the better.  You can then focus on finding the person who can actually help you, or continue to sharpen you skill for yourself – stay positive, stay focused, and stay in action.  In time, you’ll develop the skills to be able to add value to your own life and the lives of others.

Does The Empower Network Compensation Plan Pay 100% Commissions?

While it’s pretty clear that the Empower Network and it’s members are working really hard to promote 100% commissions this claim is not exactly accurate.  Which in my opinion is unfortunate because people can be skeptics – especially when it comes to compensation and because the Empower Network has a lucrative compensation plan there should be no reason to embellish it by promoting 100%, the real number is approximately 80% – which is definitely respectable.

The Empower Network compensation plan is based on the “pass up” concept which has been around for years.  In a “pass up” pay plan you forgo a set number of sales, these sales “pass up” to your sponsor to create leverage.  Unfortunately, no pass up program has ever made it long-term (that I’m aware of – and I’ve looked extensively).  Perhaps the Empower Network’s unique spin on the pass up will change that, only time will tell.

Getting Started and Getting Paid In The Empower Network

The Empower Network offers 4 products including their basic membership for $25 monthly which includes their blogging platform, capture pages, and ongoing training to help you learn to promote the company and online.  They also offer an Inner circle membership for an additional $100 monthly which includes more training.  If you elect these 2 options your investment is $125 each month.

The Empower Network also offers two one time payment trainings including the Costa Rica Intensive for $500 and the $15K Formula for $250.  Simply put, you earn 100% of all sales that do not pass up, and you can only earn on what you’ve purchased.  Empower Network members passes up there 2nd sale, 4th, 6th and then every 5th.  All in all the company allows you to earn up to $875 one time with $125 of recurring on eligible sales – all eligible sales produces a minimum of $25 per sale per month.

Outside of personal sales, the Empower Network allows you to earn from the pass up sales of your team to unlimited depth.

What You Must Know About The Empower Network

To succeed in the Empower Network isn’t as simple as just blogging daily.  There are thousands of sites online simply having one will not make you a success – even if you update it frequently.  The fact is there are several skills that must be learned in order to succeed in any business and this one is no different.

The primary skill that you must master to succeed in affiliate marketing or network marketing is locating quality prospects to connect with or simply put generating leads.  Without this gateway skill nothing else matters.  While I like aspects of the Empower Network I personally feel the best place for network marketers to learn how to generate leads is My Lead System Pro, especially if your end goal is to build an MLM.

If you’re here chances are you’ve heard the buzz surrounding Neucopia and are looking for some details to help you determine if this is the right opportunity for you to pursue.  From the title of this article, you know that I’m going to be sharing with you the truth as I see it – so please pay close attention as I share with you the important details that are available as of Neucopia’s June 4th 2012 launch.

About Neucopia

Neucopia is a new affiliate marketing slash network marketing hybrid company that some say offers 100% commissions.  According to the Neucopia website Rich Cook is the CEO and has enjoyed success as a top earner in several MLM programs and as a top earning affiliate marketer.

I’m not familiar with Mr. Cook, nor could I find anything about him prior to this venture.  One thing is clear – he is certainly aware that programs that offer upfront money have been hot lately and he’s positioned himself to capitalize on this market as affiliate marketing and network marketing continue to align.

Neucopia offers 2 memberships a basic and a premier membership each offer their own product and own compensation plan. The basic membership goes for $49.95 per month and includes training is several areas including affiliate marketing, real estate investing, stock market, forex, and more.

Neucopia’s premiere membership for $169.95 offers all aspects of the basic membership as well as additional conference calls, webinars, training videos, and other secret strategies from a host of “gurus” in their respective industries.

The Neucopia Compensation Plan

Before I get into the Neucopia compensation plan to be transparent – I want to let you know I’m not a big fan of pass up programs, I’m also not a big fan of hype or exaggerated income claims (more on that later!)

As mentioned earlier the basic (level 1) and premiere (level 2) plans have different comp plans – to get started with the basic membership requires a one time investment of $150 and has a $50 ongoing fee for the training offered by the company. The basic membership offers commissions on the 4th sale made and every sale there after. In other words the first 3 sales pass up to the sponsor. The good news is When you make the 4th sale and every sale there after you will earn $100 the bad news is there is no residual income on level 1 of this program.

This basic program makes no sense “AS I SEE IT!” In a nut shell your paying upfront and then monthly to be an affiliate marketer (personal sales only = no leverage) there are tons of affiliate programs and private label rights offers you can do for 100% free or a small upfront fee with no recurring fee – so unless you’re considering level 2 this option isn’t a good one unless the training is absolutely FANTASTIC! More truth to come…

The premiere membership (level 2) requires a $270 one time investment and has an ongoing monthly fee of $170. This side of the program has more uniqueness and has more financial opportunity for a marketer. The first thing that you should recognize is that on this side of the plan you only need to pass up your first 2 sales and can even earn $10 (approx 4%) on your first two sales and continue to earn as a team is developed from these 2 sales. Starting with sale #3 you can earn $100 on each personal sale and $100 in residual income on each person you enroll and continue to earn as you begin to earn pass up sales from your team.

On an editorial note, as mentioned earlier I really dislike when I hear income claims from the field or from a company – and while I can’t say how they originated on this is certain they have. The buzz around Neucopia started by claims of 100% commissions and unfortunately they do not offer them.

It’s simple arithmetic $170 monthly divided by a $100 payout is just under 59% commissions plain and simple.  Neucopia is a new company, and I actually like their spin on the 2 up, and there is certainly an opportunity here (for the right person).  I’ll never understand why some just can’t seem to say to let the number speak for themselves in the end they always do!

Should you pass up – a pass up program? As I see it, and as I said before the numbers speak for themselves.  I tend to look at it this way it’s easy to name several programs with non-pass up comp plans that have been around 10, 20, 30 years and more – pass up programs have been around a long time, can you name an old one?  Me either…  That being said, I can’t say Neucopia won’t be a game changer – that’s for you to decide.

A Strategy For Success With Or Without Neucopia

If you truly want success in any business where you need to sell anything – you need only 1 thing, and that’s prospects.  Without qualified people to talk to you’ve got no chance to make any significant money.  Without a legitimate system you may enroll a few people, but if you’ve read this far – I can only assume you want a thriving business.

The truth is to succeed in a network marketing program you absolutely must have or be able to develop a large number of people to talk to that are open to opportunities.  In my journey through business I’ve found only one program that can actually take a new or intermediate entrepreneur and help them learn and more importantly implement the online and offline skills that can make a huge impact in someone’s life – and you can learn more about that by CLICKING HERE.

Bidify’s current management team has significant experience in Network Marketing unfortunately not all of it is positive – the fact is their Cheif Creative Officer had legal issues with a company he’s formed in the past and penny auctions are an unproven niche – so only time will tell if there is longevity in this market or this company.  While I do believe people can learn from past challenges it’s something to be aware of.  Another thing to consider is that at one point the company’s website revealed they were located in the Seychelles Islands – which is known as a “tax haven” for allowing businesses to operate with let’s call it “flexibility” in regards to financial reporting.

That being said, Bidify hired Kevin Thompson who has a positive reputation and is known as “The MLM Attorney” to make sure they are in compliance with US laws, and the website now lists a different address which offers some ease.  However, at the time of this post there is still no corporate phone number listed on the site.  Keep in mind, I point these things out so that you are aware of some of the relevant things you should know and consider.  I encourage you to do your own research and make the decision that best suits you.

What Does Bidify Sell?

Bidify affiliates purchase “sample bids” that can be used on the Bidsson auction site.  These sample bids are purchased by Bidsson affiliates for them to give to potential Bidsson customers in order to attract customers to use these auction site and bid on the items for sale.

The company also sells “retail bids” that can be purchased by Bidsson customers.  Bidify affiliates can qualify to earn rewards on every retail bid they sell and every sample bid they purchase that is used by a Bidsson customer.

The Bidify Compensation Plan

The Bidify compensation plan is based on a uni-level plan.  A uni-level pay plan allows affialites to refer an unlimited amount of customers and business builders (affiliates) as business builders refer others depth is created in the organization.  Affiliates can earn one-time product sales bonuses on every product package sold in Bidify, a 25% retail bonus when one of their personally referred customers purchases retail bids, and a 5% bonus when a personally referred affiliate purchases sample bids.

How do I generate MLM leads, who do I talk to about this, how do I find the right people to talk to?  No matter how it’s asked, it’s the question that frustrated distributors most often ask.

I remember when I was new and I asked the #1 producer in my previous business what his system was to generate leads, and his overall process to find business builders.  What was interesting was he seemed confused by the question, his answer was, “just talk to more people.”  Interestingly enough that was his answer to everything.  So, if you’re struggling to locate motivated prospects I know what you’re going through and what you’re dealing with and things can definitely change for the better.

That being said, what I didn’t understand then – that I do now is that my problem was not the #1 producers problem – and his solution was not a solution that fit what I wanted to do or what I was willing to do, and if there was a mistake made, I made it . I was asking a guy who had no system for a system to generate mlm leads.

Why do I tell you this, well the fact is asking “HOW TO” generate MLM leads is actually the wrong question!  It’s the wrong question because it positions you for THEIR answer and whatever answer they give you. (Their answer may not be the solution for you).

Truth be told most people who have the ability to generate leads believe the best way to generate leads is the way they’re doing it.  (Just look around online – everyone thinks there way is the best – don’t be confused by this.)  Simply put, there is no real copy & paste method to generate leads.  Marketing is not as easy as copy and paste if it was every commercial for let’s say cars would be the exact same – and they’re not.  If you look at what’s being marketed around you – you can see that marketing changes based on the audience, trends, the product, the age of the audience, location, and more.  Therefore you marketing must change too.

When you’re comfortable talking to people, you can enroll distributors, get referrals, and most importantly find out what your target audience wants and needs.  When you understand and can uncover what people want and need you can easily market to your prospect desires.  Successful marketers we market to our audience’s wants and needs and if you, your product, or your opportunity is the solution to who you’re marketing to – positive results will naturally follow.

Understanding what others want and offering them a viable solution is what opens up, marketing techniques that allow you to attract leads.

When you understand what others want – it doesn’t really matter whether you’re using paid advertising, social media, blogging, or videos to attract your audience.  So, if there is a secret to becoming a master marketer it is to choose the best marketing method that suits your personality, budget, and skill set – and then delivers your solution to that audience based on their wants, needs, and desires.
